Clairton High School Football has forfeited its upcoming game against Steel Valley scheduled for Friday.
In a release, the district says the forfeit is “due to personnel matters” and says it cannot provide any additional details at this time, but does say that Coach Wayne Wade Jr. remains the team’s head coach.
“We understand the disappointment this may cause and appreciate the understanding and support of our student-athletes, Steel Valley’s student-athletes, and both communities,” the district said in a release.
The district says the football team will continue its season next week with a game at home against Taylor Allderdice.
Clairton lost its opening game to Farrell during the KDKA Kickoff Classic this past weekend.
