An effort is underway to save a longtime Pittsburgh music venue.

A GoFundMe has been started to support Club Café on South 12 Street, right off East Carson Street in the South Side.

The owners of Club Café, who took over the music spot a year ago, say they’ve had to take on some “unexpected” costs and issues during that time, including a broken HVAC system, freezer repairs, damage to the outdoor neon sign and more.

“These issues forced temporary closures, lost revenue, and reduced shifts for employees,” the GoFundMe reads. “Insurance hasn't covered the losses, and the venue is now seeking support from the community.”

The owners are trying to raise $16,000 that will cover the cost for repairs and lost revenue due to forced closures.

“This support will help the venue continue its legacy as a place where memories are made and the community comes together,” The fundraiser adds.

Club Café was taken over by the female-owned Keystone Connect a year ago.

Club Café has hosted up-and-coming musical acts for a quarter of a century.

The dimly lit venue has been a place to get away and enjoy music, compared to the hustle and bustle of the South Side flats.
