As the Parkway East nears the closure next month for the Commercial Street Bridge replacement project, the road below is closed again.
PennDOT is reminding drivers that Commercial Street, Forward Avenue and the Nine Mile Run Trail are closed.
The closure is so crews can do last-minute prep work for the demolition of the Commercial Street Bridge.
Commercial Street/Forward Avenue and the Nine Mile Run Trail will stay closed until after the cleanup is finished, once the new bridge is in place.
Commercial Street was closed last Thursday and Friday for much of the day as crews did some testing for when they slide the new bridge in place after the old one comes down.
The posted detour will loop you onto Whipple Street, Monongahela Avenue, South Braddock. Forbes, Beechwood and Forward Avenue. From Forward Avenue.
