Swisshelm Park residents are getting some good news.
It's the last piece of the Commercial Street Bridge replacement project.
As the 100,000 drivers who use the bridge each day know, the bridge reopened last week.
And now, after it's been closed since June 29, Commercial Street below the bridge and the Nine Mile Run Trail also re-opened Monday afternoon.
PennDOT needed to make sure that the road and the trail were both safe for drivers and pedestrians with no dangerous debris following the implosion of the old bridge.
It meant drivers who typically used Commercial Street had to detour through Squirrel Hill.
And not helping, some navigation apps were saying the road was open when it wasn't.
