
Two patients that were injured during an assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump this past Saturday are improving.
Allegheny Health Network says both 74-year-old James Copenhaver and 57-year-old David Dutch have been upgraded from critical to serious condition Wednesday afternoon.
Copenhaver's family released a statement saying he is recovering from what they call 'life-altering' injuries.
Copenhaver is from Moon and Dutch lives in New Kensington.
A candlelight vigil is planned on Wednesday evening for 50-year-old Corey Comperatore. He was killed during the assassination attempt, protecting his family from gunfire.
Comperatore, a retired firefighter, was described as a hero following the shooting.
A viewing is planning for Thursday and he will be laid to rest Friday.
According to a report from the Tribune Review, there are plans to for former President Trump to attend Comperatore’s funeral on Friday.
Trump is scheduled to accept the Republican nomination for president on Thursday evening.
