The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in Fayette County near Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park campground late last night.
The NWS is in the area today surveying the damage after classifying the tornado as EF-2 intensity with winds registering at speeds greater than 110 miles per hour.
Wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour at Pittsburgh International overnight knocked out power across the region.
Duquesne Light had more than 5,000 outages at one point
The highest numbers were in Moon and Whitehall.
West Penn Power had more than 10,000 customers without service in Fayette County. 9,700 in Allegheny, 8,800 in Washington, 3,300 in Westmoreland and 800 in Beaver and Butler counties combined.
In Beaver, Washington and Fayette Counties, several downed trees and wires were reported down along with debris on some roadways.
