A consumer alert has been issued for a Chinese restaurant in Squirrel Hill.
The Allegheny County Health Department posted the alert for Yue Bai Wei on Forbes Avenue last week.
Some of the issue’s inspectors found was food was in an “unsound” condition, food was not thawed properly and held past the throw away date.
There was also lack of a food thermometer and pest management.
Inspectors also observed the potential for cross-contamination, food contact surfaces were not cleaned and “inadequate” employee hygiene.
Workers showed an “inadequate demonstration of knowledge” and there was a lack of handwashing sinks.
As of October 16, the alert was still active.
