A convenience store in Southwestern PA has been ruled “out of compliance” after an inspection by state health officials recently.
The Sunoco on Washington Avenue in Finleyville, Washington County was inspected this week with five risk factors discovered.
An inspection shows milk in a walk-in cooler had a temperature of 53 degrees. Cold-holding foods must be 41 degrees or lower to be in the safety zone. The milk was thrown away that had been in the cooler for four hours or longer.
The walk-in cooler had an ambient air temperature of 52, not 41. An employee said they had the door propped open for a short time while loading drinks.
Some refrigerated, ready-to-eat sandwiches held for over 24 hours were not being date marked. Inspectors say that is a repeat violation that is occurred on at least seven other occasions.
