A convenience store in Southwestern Pennsylvania has been ruled ‘out of compliance’ after a recent inspection by state officials.
The Department of Agricultures, Bureau of Food Safety says the Pitstop Sunoco Pizza & Café on Route 982 in Derry had four risk factors after an inspection on August 26.
An inspection shows an employee “changing tasks that may have contaminated hands without a proper handwash.”
Also, a food worker was seen touching sandwich toppings with bare hands when gloves are required.
The facility has a “limited number of gloves for employees”. In that case, tongs or deli paper should be used to limit hands touching the food directly.
