Police say 27-year-old Curtis Gardner is charged with unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors after allegedly communicating with a 16-year-old Ringgold High School student on Snapchat.
Investigators say the teen reported receiving sexually explicit photos and videos from Gardner, along with a selfie showing him in what appeared to be his corrections officer uniform.
The allegations came to light after the student told a Washington County corrections employee during a career fair in April, prompting an investigation.
Gardner is being held in the Washington County Jail on $150,000 bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 29.
