A Pittsburgh Police officer fired a shot at a man Thursday afternoon in Mount Washington.
It happened as detectives and officers were investigating at a home in the 100 block of Dilworth Street, right before 4:50 p.m.
They say a man holding a gun ran from the residence and when one of the officers encountered him, the officer fired one shot.
The man got away and police do not believe he was wounded.
Allegheny County detectives are handling the case and will send the results to the District Attorney's office.
