UPDATE: The cow has been safely loaded onto a truck, but there are still residual delays in the Evans City/Cranberry area.
A Cow on Interstate 79 in Butler County is causing heavy delays between the Rt. 288 Exit and Cranberry.
The delays are north and south bound because of a cow in median area.
State Police tell AAA Traffic reporter Ellen Gamble they are trying to remove the cow humanely.
There are heavy delays on both directions, along with on Rt. 19 with drivers using that as an alternative.
