An accident in the northbound lanes of I-79 in Kennedy Township shut down the highway for a time on Thursday morning, leaving one person injured.
It happened around 7:15 a.m. near Coraopolis.
The northbound lanes were closed for nearly an hour before opening after 8 a.m.
The injured driver was extracted from the vehicle by Coraopolis VFD and assisted by local EMS. They were then taken to the hospital, condition unknown.
