Deer Lakes employee accused of stealing $130k from student activity fees

An office worker at a local school district is accused of stealing nearly $130,000 in student activity fees over a two-year period.

The Allegheny County District Attorney's Office says 53-year-old Rachel Rominski of Allison Park was working as an Accounts Receivable clerk in the Deer Lakes School District.

Where she was responsible for collecting things like student club fees.

But they say instead of depositing the money into the district's bank account, she kept cash payments for her own personal benefit.
