That dense fog we’ve been dealing with will the past few days will continue into the weekend.

AccuWeather’s Bill Deger tells KDKA Radio the heavy morning fog will continue Friday and possibly into Saturday.
“We haven’t much in the way of wind in the past couple of days, the upper part of the atmosphere is quite warm so that’s supporting the fog development at the surface as well and the pattern really doesn’t change much the next couple mornings,” said Deger.
Deger adds that also allows the fog to last several hours and reduce visibility to less than a mile at time.
Pittsburgh drivers are used to driving through dense fog every once in a while.
But NewsRadio KDKA Traffic Reporter Kathy Berggren says the data she was seeing over the last two days showed some of the thickest fog she's ever seen for this region.
Berggren says he has seen a noticeable uptick in accidents and other traffic issues the past two days
The thick fog tempts some drivers to use their high beams, but that actually makes visibility worse.
Berggren says to use low beams and make sure you allow yourself plenty of extra time for wherever you need to go.
