Detroit man accused of theft at several Walmart locations arrested in area

An 18-year-old Detroit man, with warrants across the US, was arrested in Westmoreland County last week.

Andrew Reed is accused of ripping off Walmart stores in several states.

An employee at the chain's North Huntingdon store saw Reed trying to walk away with over $2,100 worth of merchandise and stopped the transaction.

Police caught up with Reed in the parking lot and later learned he is linked to 97 incidents in Walmart's loss prevention database.

In all, he's accused of stealing more than $146,000 dollars in goods.

Reed is facing theft and other charges and was denied bail.
