A dog found shot in West Mifflin died Sunday night.
Sable Kennel says the animal was wounded twice, found near the tunnel on Elizabeth Street and was taken to a nearby vet, but doctors at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center were unable to help.
The kennel named the dog Marshmallow.
Authorities are working to find the dog's owner and the person responsible for the shooting.
“This dog has been shot twice. If you know something say something. How would you feel if it was your dog?”
You can call West Mifflin Police at 412-461-0600.
A woman who works in Animal Control tells KDKA Radio that the bill from the PVSEC has already been paid, but people can donate and help the next dog in need. Call 412-660-3350 for more information.
Bones, antlers, bully sticks and more can also be donated.
“We see a lot of horrible things on the streets of Pittsburgh, it’s never ending,” the Animal Control worker said.
