Missing dog in Beaver County rescued after surviving days in frigid cold

A dog in Beaver County was rescued on Tuesday night after braving the snow and cold for six days.

Bridgewater VFD says Willow, who had been missing since late last week, was discovered by a person walking across the Norfolk Southern train bridge between Bridgewater and Rochester.

Several agencies in the area responded to help rescue Willow who was found “20ft below grade on a 24-inch ledge of the railroad structure.”

Due to the cold, EMS were also on the scene to help with any weather-related or other issued that may have developed.

Crews from Aliquippa, Chippewa, New Brighton, Baden and Allegheny Health Network assisted in the rescue.

Last seen on January 20, Willow’s owner wrote online “She is my baby girl…sweet and loving…she is jittery around new people which worries me if someone tries to help she will run…not a mean bone in her body just nervous…please help me!!!”

Luckily, Willow appears to be okay.
