Pittsburgh is preparing to celebrate the life and legacy of music legend Donnie Iris.
The celebration will bring together family, friends, longtime bandmates and fellow musicians to share stories and memories of the man known as “King Cool.”
Iris was behind hits including “Ah! Leah!,” “Love Is Like a Rock” and “The Rapper,” and became a beloved fixture in Pittsburgh's music scene.
The free event is Monday, November 9th, at 11 a.m. at Citizens Live at The Wylie.
“Guests will hear memories from those who knew and performed alongside Donnie, while sharing their appreciation for his enduring impact on the city and the music community,” a release reads.
Iris died October 26th at the age of 83, following a battle with bladder cancer.
While the event is free to the public, you are asked to RSVP in advance. You can do so here.
