Bag of Doritos used to try and smuggle drugs into Allegheny County Jail

A creative attempt to smuggle contraband into the Allegheny County Jail has been thwarted.

It involved a bag of Doritos.

Detectives assigned to the jail learned two inmates were planning to sneak synthetic pot, known as K2, into the jail.

The plan was to leave several doses in a bathroom at a magistrate’s office where one of the inmates was scheduled to appear Tuesday.

The detectives say they watched Tyrique Craighead enter and leave the bathroom, leaving behind open bag of Doritos with pieces of rolled paper inside that tested positive for K2.

Craighead, Tyreace Platt and Chaz Coles are now facing conspiracy and other charges.
