The South Hills DUI Task Force has announced an enforcement campaign taking place this weekend in the area.
The DUI Sobriety Checkpoint is planned in Munhall, Friday through early Sunday morning.
Officer with the task force say the goal of the checkpoint is to “increase roadway safety by identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways while educating the public about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
The exact locations of the enforcement are not known.
The South Hills DUI Task Force is comprised of officers from Baldwin, Brentwood, Homestead, West Homestead, Munhall, Elizabeth Twp., Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills, South Park, West Mifflin, Whitehall, Swissvale, Clairton, Duquesne, Glassport and McKeesport.
With Labor Day approaching, the task force in encouraging everyone to plan ahead and have a safe ride if you plan on going out.
