Staff and patients at a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Pittsburgh Thursday will have a sweet treat to snack on thanks to a local Dunkin' franchisee.
Dunkin' delivered more than 3,000 individually wrapped donuts to Allegheny Health Network's clinic at PNC Park.
"Dunkin' wanted to provide not only a donut, but a huge thank-you to the people who are helping our community make it across homeplate during this unprecedented time," said Anthony Braun, COO and CFO of the Heartland Restaurant Group. "We looked to our friends at Allegheny Health Network and were amazed at their efforts to get our community vaccinated."
Heartland Restaurant Group is a local Dunkin' franchisee.

Braun said giving back to the community is part of their DNA. "However, during this ongoing crisis, we want to make sure that, as an organization, we recognize the people who are going above and beyond for our community."
"We can't thank the Dunkin' team enough for its generous donation. Their gift is a testament to the ongoing support our community has shown for AHN as we continue to provide vaccinations to as many individuals in our region as we can," said Allie Quick, AHN chief philanthropy officer. "Today's donation will be a sweet surprise for our many patients, volunteers and employees at PNC Park."

AHN expects more than 6,000 people to attend the clinic over the two-day period. Healthcare workers will be administering the second dose of the COVID vaccine to those who received their first dose at the ballpark at the end of February.
On Wednesday, Dunkin' announced that it had named a drink after a Pittsburgh woman who won a national contest.
