Bethel Park Police are urging parents to be aware of the dangers of so-called e-bikes after a juvenile was injured riding one this week.
Police said on social media that two kids were riding their e-bikes at a high rate of speed and disregarding traffic laws, when one of them ran a stop sign and slammed into the side of a car that actually had the right of way.
Police say parents need to make sure their kids are using e-bikes responsibly and legally, and they must be at least 16 if they're riding them in public.
The Department says parents could find themselves slapped with a citation, and also be civilly liable for any damage their kids cause using the e-bikes irresponsibly.
