A third bald eaglet has hatched in the Pittsburgh area.
This one hatched on Wednesday at the U.S. Steel Irvin facility.
The eaglet is officially known as USS6 and is the sixth eaglet to be born at the location since the nest was constructed in a sycamore tree at the Mon Valley Works in West Mifflin.
In 2020, one eagle hatched, two in 2021 and two in 2022.
Two eaglets hatched in the Hays nest one two separate days last week.
Two weeks ago there was an incident that ruffled some feathers in the nest.
Another eagle unexpectedly landed in the Irvin nest, but was quickly dispatched by the male eagle while keeping the now-hatched egg warm.
