A man is in critical condition after an early morning apartment building fire in Carrick.
It happened around 1 a.m. in the 2600 block of Churchview Avenue.
As residents were evacuating the building, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from an apartment and rescued a man on the floor next to a burning recliner.
Another resident was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The flames were contained to one apartment but seven other units have minor smoke and water damage.
