Recent Allderdice grad fatally shot in East Hills

Pittsburgh's Headlines: July 1, 2026

Pittsburgh Public Schools have released a Statement of Sorrow this morning on the death of Tristan Taylor, who was shot and killed Wednesday night on Wilner Drive in East Hills.

They described the 18-year-old as a quiet, friendly, respectful and hardworking young man who had graduated with honors last month.

Tristian was planning to attend CCAC in the fall for business.

The statement says the district cares deeply about the impact of gun violence on students, families and the community.

They say they will be reaching out directly to Taylor's family about his loss.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. on the 2200 block of Wilner Drive, after two men had gotten into an argument.

Police say they found six shell casings on the scene.

The victim was shot in the abdomen and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the gunman fled and they're still looking for him.
