The search warrants investigating no-bid contracts and other areas during the Gainey Administration have been opened.
The search warrants that have now been opened detail the allegations, focusing on no-bid contract and bid-rigging allegations and money being funneled back to political organizations including the SEIU and Working Families Party.
The investigation said under previous Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey's Administration, no bid contracts doubled from ten to twenty percent.
Areas of interest include a $180,000 professional service agreement to Matrix Consulting group to evaluate police services
Also, Stop the Violence money going to 1Hood Media.
City Councilmember Anthony Coghill and former member Theresa Kail-Smith raised a series of questions to the investigators about how money appeared to go to supporters of Ed Gainey.
Additional areas being investigated included information given during bond issuances., and in the budgeting process: overestimating revenue from real estate taxes and the Jock Tax.
