A K9 Police Officer in Elizabeth Township died on Wednesday after what they call a “K9 demonstration.”
“Eli” had been serving with the department since 2016.
The department said in a release on Facebook, he had “hundreds of apprehensions and seizures since that time. In that same time, he has touched thousands of hearts.”
Eli’s handler was Officer Novacek.
Eli was taken from Valley Veterinarian Hospital to a funeral home in Boston, PA.
Community members were encouraged to line Route 48 to honor Eli.
Details for a memorial service will be released later this week.
