A western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to more than a dozen years in prison following a bank robbery conviction.

In November of 2018, 32-year-old Ronald Eugene Lomax, Jr., robbed the Northwest Savings Bank in Erie, by giving a bank teller a note stating that he had a gun. He fled the scene with $5,000.

Then in December of the same year, Lomax robbed the same bank, this time pointing a gun at a teller and got away with $6,100.

At the time of the robberies, the Erie man was on parole for a child rape conviction in Pennsylvania.

Lomax was sentenced to 155 months in prison, three years supervised release and must pay $11,100 restitution.

He was convicted of bank robbery, armed bank robbery and using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Stephen Kaufman.
