The families of victims of former nurse Heather Pressdee are suing the Lower Burrell care facility where she is connected to five deaths in less than a year.
Wrongful death lawsuits against Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, contend Belair failed to properly vet Pressdee before she was hired.
Attorney Rob Pierce represents three of the families who lost loved ones at Belair.
On the Big K Morning Show, Pierce said Pressdee bounced around from one job to another.
“In less than three years, Heather Pressdee went to six prior facilities, came to Belair and was made the assistant director of nursing, which means she was in a management position,” said Pierce.
Pierce adds Pressdee took a particular interest in certain patients.
“Their health almost immediately deteriorated and . . . at least five have passed away,” said Pierce.
The so-called 'killer nurse' has confessed to killing 17 patients.
Pressdee is also charged with attempted homicide and neglect of a care-dependent person.
