
A fan at the Pirates Cubs game fell over the Clemente Wall in right field Wednesday night.
A video on X shows the fan jumping out of his seat and falling onto the warning track, landing on his head, in right field.
After Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning, players began waving to medical personnel to alert them of the injured fan. The fan was removed from the field on a cart after being tended to for around five minutes.
Players from the Pirates and Cubs were seen praying for the fan.
The Pirates released this statement:
"Tonight, during the seventh inning of the game at PNC Park, an adult male fell from the right field bleachers onto the field of play. Pittsburgh EMS, as well as the Pirates and Cubs athletic training teams and other PNC Park personnel reacted and responded immediately and administered care. No further infomration is available at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."
Around 10:30 p.m. Pittsburgh Public Safety posted on X the fan was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
AGH spokesperson Dan Laurent confirmed to KDKA TV's Jennifer Borrasso that the man, who is in his 20's, was taken to the AGH Trauma Center with a skull fracture.
