A beloved bar closed its doors permanently on Sunday.
Fat Head’s in South Side ended their final day after being open for 34 years.
After opening in 1992, the award-winning craft brewery announced via social media at the end of March that they would be closing.
Countless people shared photos over the past weeks, showing their loved for the bar/restaurant that had been a South Side staple for over 30 years.
With demand so high of people wanting to visit Fat Head’s one last time, wait times were long leading up to the closing.
Fat Head's production facility and three Ohio locations will remain open. You can still get Fat Head’s beer at many distributors around Pittsburgh.
One long-time employee says that the ongoing threat of violence on the South Side likely played a factor into the decision to close down.
