After nearly 35 years, Fat Head’s Saloon on the South Side is closing down for good.
The announcement was made on social media Tuesday afternoon.
“Closing the doors is incredibly difficult, but we do it with pride, gratitude, and a lifetime of memories,” Fat Heads said in a message.
No reason was immediately given for the closing.
The last day of operations for Fat Heads on Carson Street will be April 26.
“Between now and then, we hope you’ll stop in, raise a glass, say hello, and share a store or two with us.”
A “Last Call” gathering is also planned for Friday, April 17.
“A farewell, in a way, for former employees, longtime regulars, and friends of Fat Head’s to stop by, reconnect, and celebrate the many years we shared together. One last round before the lights come on,” the message reads.
Fat Head’s Beer will continue to be available at retailers around Pittsburgh.
Fat Heads beer is brewed in Ohio.
