Man electrocuted trying to steal wiring in Fayette Co.

A man trying to steal wiring from an active electrical line was killed when he was electrocuted in Fayette County Friday morning.

According to PA state police, 32-year-old Aaron Cottrell of New Salem was found on the ground at Laurel Hill Road in Dunbar Township after 7 a.m.

He was found with a pole saw and a backpack.

Troopers say he was trying to steal wiring from a power line that was active.

The incident is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
