Take a look at the construction site east of the city, and it's a far cry from the snow-covered collapse back in January.

PennDOT's Cheryl Moon-Sirianni says they're hopeful the bridge will be done by the end of the year, but that doesn't mean they're compromising safety for speed.

“What we did here is a lot of collaboration. So, while we were designing one piece, and they started to construct the one piece, we were still designing the other piece. We didn’t have an entire bridge design. We were doing it along the way.”

Massive 108-ton beams made their way to the site Monday. The far side and middle beams being put in place as we speak. They're the largest pre-stress beams ever used by a PennDOT project.

Expedited funding, shipping and permitting has put the project nearly two years ahead of their typical timeline for a project this size.

That end of year opening isn't set in stone, but rather a goal. Moon-Sirianni says wide spread supply chain issues could push the date back.
