The Fern Hollow Bridge is closing again next month. And it'll remain closed for a month, while crews finish up their work on the rebuilt span.
Two lanes of traffic have been opened on the bridge since December.
Now they will close Monday. All four lanes of traffic are expected to reopen July 7.
The closure will allow PennDOT’s contractor, Swank Construction Company, the time to complete the last bit of milling, paving and pavement markings.
Artistic enhancements to the bridge sidewalk and barrier are also being made.
In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to use South Dallas Avenue, Penn Avenue and South Braddock Avenue as a detour.
