Lt. Governor John Fetterman has declared victory over Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz in the race for U.S. Senate.

The democrat, who suffered a stroke just before the primary, is the former mayor of Braddock and became Lt. Governor during Tom Wolf’s second term as governor.
Several outlets, including CBS, CNN, ABC and NBC are all projecting that Fetterman will win the Senate seat that was highly-contested.
As of 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Fetterman had a 49.46 percent lead to Oz’s 48.13 percent or 2,446,089 votes for Fetterman compared to 2,380,124 for Oz.
The seat currently held by retiring GOP Senator Pat Toomey will flip to Democrat.
“We jammed the up,” said Fetterman, saying their slogan of “Every County, Every Vote” worked.
If the projections hold up, both Senators from Pennsylvania will be Democrats, with Bob Casey holding the other seat.
Fetterman will become the first Senator from Western Pennsylvania since Republican Rick Santorum.
Fetterman had a large lead in the summer, but saw that lead dwindle to a toss-up with Oz taking a slight lead into the final days of the election.
