The former South Greensburg fire chief accused of taking money from his own department is now accused of pocketing money from a Hempfield Township cemetery association.
49-year-old Mathew White has now been charged with over paying himself for salary and commission while he was the superintendent of the St Clair Cemetery Association.
PA State Troopers say the thefts from the cemetery started in 2022 and discovered that over $290,000 was missing from the association.
He was originally arrested for allegedly stealing $170,000 from the South Greensburg Fire Department while he was the chief.
White remains in the Westmoreland County Jail without bail.
