Fire crews rescue cat from roof in New Kensington

A cat stuck on a roof in New Kensington had to be rescued over the weekend.

New Kensington Fire Department Company 2 posted on Facebook that they received an alert of a cat stuck on a roof somewhere near the 500 block of 4th Avenue.

Upon arriving on the scene, crews found the cat on a roof across the street from the Williamsburg Manor Apartments on 6th Street.

Company 1 assisted by providing a ladder truck so crews could rescue the cat.

Once rescued, the cat was given to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley in Parnassus.
