A popular, national chicken restaurant is now open in the Pittsburgh area.

Raising Cane’s has opened its first location at the University of Oakland on Tuesday.

The location is along Fifth Avenue at the former Thirsty Scholar restaurant.

In addition to their popular chicken tenders, Raising Cane’s sells chicken sandwiches, fries, drinks and more.

Raising Cane’s operates around 700 locations in 35 states across the country.

Before the Oakland opening, the closest Cane’s was in Youngtown, Ohio or State College.

Three other locations of the Louisiana-based chicken tender restaurant will be “opening soon” according to CBRE’s Herky Pollock.

They will be in North Versailles, South Fayette and Pleasant Hills, “along with many more to come,” a post of Facebook reads.

The South Fayette location is planned for the Piazza in South Fayette.

The North Versailles location will be on Lincoln Highway.
