Pittsburgh's Headlines: October 21, 2026

A pizza restaurant in Southwestern Pennsylvania has been ruled out of compliance after an inspection by state health officials.

The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety says Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza on McDowell Lane in McMurray had eight total violations, including four risk factors.

Some of the violations include fruit flies observed in the dishwashing machine area and “residue and heavy debris” accumulation in a drain near the server station.

Other areas were found to be dirty, including a black “mold-like” substance found on a wall behind the spray sink, food debris build-up in a cooler near the dish machine, debris on top of the dishwasher, a possible water leak near the walk-in cooler, “black” debris inside the keg cooler and liquid and other debris on the floor below the drink fountain in the server area.

“Heavy debris” was also found on the inner parts of the restaurant’s ice machine.
