Diners who leave reviews on Open Table, the restaurant reservation platform, will no longer be fully anonymous.

OpenTable is now displaying profile pictures and first names on reviews.

The policy change is getting a thumbs up from restaurant owner Joe Tambellini:

“If you’re going to put something out there, we should have the opportunity to know who you are,” said Tambellini.

He says many diners use the platform against eateries:

“I hate to say it, but there’s scams out there,” said Tambellini. “There’s people that almost use it as a tool to, if you don’t do this for me, I’m going to give you a crappy review.”

The new policy began on Monday.
