A food truck in Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department after an inspection.
Inspectors ordered the Halal Gyro Guys Trailer closed after an inspection on Wednesday. The Health Department lists the address as 2880 Banksville Road.
Three of the eight total violations are considered “high-risk”.
Those high-risk violations include cooked chicken 10 degrees under the safe zone for holding hot food. It was temped at 125 degrees in a metal pan on the grill.
Chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes were measured at 70 degrees in a plastic bin on a counter. Cold-holding food must be at 41 degrees or lower.
Inspectors also say the facility lacked water and that the water tank was empty.
The Health Department says the closure is mainly due to the lack of water and a reinspection will take place “when the mobile facility is ready to be inspected.”
