Former Rite Aid in Mount Oliver sold to non-profit

It's the latest abandoned pharmacy to be repurposed

A South Side nonprofit has bought the former Rite Aid store in Mount Oliver.

The Pittsburgh Business Times reports that the Brashear Association paid $350,000 dollars for the location in the 200 block of Hays Avenue.

No word yet on what the organizations plans to do with the new store.

The Brashear Association says on its website it “serves community members in South Pittsburgh neighborhoods and works with them to solve challenges they may be facing. Brashear understands that moving children, families, and adults (including seniors) from the margins means surrounding those facing hardships with a strong community infrastructure.”
