Antisemitic quote published in high school yearbook

Pittsburgh's Headlines: June 10, 2026

A local high school has launched an investigation after an antisemitic quote was published in the yearbook.

The Franklin Regional School District is dealing with backlash after an antisemitic quote was posted in the yearbook.

In a statement, the district says a senior is facing disciplinary action after the quote minimized the number of deaths in the Holocaust and wished for more deaths in the Jewish community.

Six million people died in the Holocaust.

The district says they became aware of the statement by concerned students.

It considered republishing but that wasn't feasible.

Their investigation revealed the yearbook advisor was unaware of the meaning of the behind the statement.

The district stated it does not condone this type of behavior and there's no room for hate speech in our community.

Franklin Regional is reviewing yearbook development and approval procedures going forward.
