Officials say he tried to hide himself behind clothes in a closet, but a fugitive wanted since October is now in custody.
The Allegheny County Sheriff's office says 21-year-old Robert Evans had been on the lam since escaping from a halfway house where he'd been charged with theft, firearms and other violations.
He was located in a home in Swisshelm Park Wednesday, and Sheriff's deputies said it took about five minutes before he stopped struggling and could be put in handcuffs.
After he was handcuffed, Evans continued to resist, dragging his weight as he was taken to a police vehicle.
He was taken to the County Jail and also arraigned on a new charge of resisting arrest.
