Tension continues to grow between Pittsburgh's mayor and the Allegheny County District Attorney.
In an in-studio interview with The Big K Morning Show, Stephen Zappala suggested he could sue the city to take control of Pittsburgh police.
He believes police don't have full range to enforce the laws, leading to increased issues downtown.
"I think we're moving in that direction and if they don't enforce the law, it's an extraordinary measure, but I've done it before, I'll do it again," said Zappala.
Mayor Ed Gainey responded Tuesday defending his approach to crime, and adding the DA has no authority to sue the city for control of the police department and with Election Day in a week, it's a political ploy.
"You can't take over the police department so for us to have this conversation instead of talking about how we can work together to make this city the . . . safest city in America, I don't understand the political strategy.
