Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania fall as the holidays near

Holiday shoppers will have a little more to spend on gifts this year, according to a AAA gas report.

Gas Prices have gone down seven cents this week, falling to $3.795 in AAA East Central's Gas Price Report.


The national average went down by a whole twelve cents this past week sitting at $3.14, the lowest national average of this year.

Pittsburgh's gas prices have reduced a significant seventeen cents since last month, but are still above last year's average by twenty-six cents.

The Energy Information Administration has reported that the demand for gas has reduced from 8.36 million barrels per day to 8.26. This with people driving less in wintertime has helped see gas prices reduce.

The cost of oil has gone down to $70, which is $50 less than where we were at when prices were peaking in the spring.
