It's a new beginning for a former police officer who lost his service dog. When Gracie passed away, Eric Ross was beside himself. He had lost his four-legged friend who helped him cope with PTSD among other issues.

Eric's friend, Emily Gedman, reached out to Get Marty in May. She used to walk Gracie and knows how much she meant to Eric and his wellbeing.

Eric is a retired police officer from Houston, Texas who moved to Beaver County after losing everything to flooding from Hurricane Harvey in 2017. He has some physical issues that are compounded with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

I reached out to my friend who is an excellent trainer and he jumped into action. Paul Anthony from Unleashed Doggie Daycare in Gibsonia started searching for the right dog to help Eric.

He found "Roxy" in a shelter in West Virginia. They appeared to have an instant bond. Finding Roxy was the first step, now comes the more difficult part, her training.

Eric and Roxy are beginning the journey together, but they still need your help.  The American Legion Riders Post 580 is now raising funds to cover all of Roxy's training and even future veterinary bills so that Eric doesn't have to take on that burden.
