Get Marty: Help support one last wish for girl with terminal cancer

A 16-year-old girl that beat brain cancer three years ago is once again battling, but this time the prognosis is not good.

Doctors tells Jaycee Amick’s family that her cancer is terminal.

“Her cancer has spread in an incredibly rare way. The new mass is located in her sacral area, meaning the bottom of her spine. It has also moved into her blood,” a GoFundMe explains.

There are no more treatment options for Jaycee, only comfort care, as the family begins to discuss hospice.

With her remaining time left, Jaycee wants to go to The Mall of America and stay at Great Wolf Lodge.

Maddy Preston, who has been helping the Amick family and has a letter from Jaycee tattooed on her arm, is looking to raise $10,000 to make Jaycee’s dream come true.

“The next few weeks, time with Jaycee is the most important,” Preston writes. “The memories we can create. No family deserves to go through the things they are. No child deserves what she is going through. She has fought cancer for so long and deserves to have some time where she can just be a kid.”

Money raised will allow Jaycee to live out her dream.

Preston add that extra money raised will go toward money already raised for medical expenses, and eventually, when the time comes, the cost of funeral expenses.

Doctors say Jaycee doesn’t have much time left and the family would like to go on the trip before Christmas.

While in the hospital, Jaycee has also been dealing with a UTI, sepsis and E. coli.

“She had fluid on her lungs and has been put on intermittent oxygen. She has experienced disruptions to different bodily functions.”
